Mitch is a doctoral candidate in economics at Stanford University, where he is the Koret Fellow and Ric Weiland Graduate Fellow. His academic interests include microeconomic theory, market design and topics at the intersection of economics and computer science.
Mitch has a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where he was a John F. Kennedy Fellow. Mitch also has a Bachelor in Science (Hons) in mathematics from the University of Queensland, where he was a University Medallist and Graduate of the Year.
Mitch is from Brisbane, Australia. Between 2013 and 2016, Mitch worked for the Parliament of Australia as the adviser to The Hon. Dr Jim Chalmers MP, then the Shadow Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation and Shadow Minister for Sport. He also served as President of Queensland Young Labor and Secretary of the Australian Young Labor movement.
Mitch has advised on policy design for policymakers and public sector clients in financial regulation, tax policy and industrial policy. Mitch consults at Auctionomics on auction design and strategy.
